AWS Offering Free Approved Dealer Single-Ply Installation Training

American WeatherStar will be conducting an intense, but fun and free, TPO / Single-Ply installation seminar for all of our approved Dealers interested in TPO Single-Ply roofing materials and how to properly install these roofing systems.

Our event will be hosted at the Marriott Grand Hotel on Mobile Bay in Point Clear, AL from March 27th - 29th, 2012.

MetalCon Recap

Wow what a show. This was our first time attending Metalcon. The attendees were very receptive to our roof coating products and our marketing. We talked to more contractors that had a need for us than any of our previous shows this year. Brian and I both walked away from this event thinking what a success it was. Infrared Evidence of AWS Cool Roof Coating Effect

These high-resolution photos demonstrate the dramatic temperature differences measured on the parts of a roof that were coated with an AWS elastomeric roof coating and the parts of the roof that were not coated. As seen in the infrared image on the right, an AWS roof coating can have a huge effect on a roof's exterior temperature, which in turn affects the building's interior temperature, and can result in a more energy efficient, and easier to control, interior climate. If you compare the elements around the AWS coated portion of the roof, which is displayed cool blues in the infrared image on the right, you can see how the roof's temperature is running as cool or cooler than the grass and trees, while the uncoated portion of the roof is running as hot as the black tar pavement.

But even more energy efficiency and strength can added to the roof by using AWS spray polyurethane foam (SPF) underlayment prior to the AWS roof coating, or in cases where the roof substrate is need of repair, AWS also offers bright white, cool roof TPO single-ply membranes that can have the same style effect on temperature reduction.

More benefits of using bright white cool roofing materials from AWS are a reduction in thermo-cycling, which is the process of expansion and contraction that every roof experiences whenever the outside temperature changes, and enhanced reflectivity, whereby a roof's surface reflects the damaging ultra-violet rays and heat of the sun away from the roof's surface.

Wow! That’s what we have to say about the 2011 FRSA held at the Orange County Convention Center. This was an amazing show and we met some great people. The OCCC is an amazing place with over 4 million square feet of exhibit space. We at American WeatherStar felt like this was the perfect place to exhibit and talk to contractors about our full line of coatings, as well as our line of Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) and single-ply. Spotlight on Excellence Award Winner 2011-03

The newest recipient of the American WeatherStar Spotlight on Excellence Award is the recoat of the the old, rusty metal roof at the McConnell Automotive Paint & Body Shop in Mobile, AL by Kiker Corporation.

Kiker combined the AWS Rust Prime 960 to stop and control the rusting roof with the durability and energy efficiency of the AWS Acrylic 211 Roof Coating to completely seal and protect the exsiting metal roof substrate without the need for a complete tear off. Kiker also used AWS Brush Grade Butyl Rubber 320 to seal all seams and penetrations to form a solid, monolithic, and watertight roof surface that will last for years.

RCI 2011 Recap

We had an exciting time at the Roofing Consultants Institute (RCI) 26th International Convention and Trade Show April 7 - 12, 2011 at the luxurious Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno, Nevada.

We got to meet many new roofing experts as well as visit with a few old friends from the roofing industry. It is always great when we get the chance to explain the benefits of our roof coatings, spray foam, and single-ply roofing products while we explore the options for improving our performance and products to better serve the roofing industry.

The Peppermill Resort was ready for the Roofing Consultants show.

SPFA 2011 Was a Huge Success

We just wrapped up the Spray Foam Alliance 2011 Trade Show in Reno and it was a huge success and better yet, we had a great time in the biggest little city in the world. We lots of new contacts in the spray foam and roof coatings industry and really enjoyed spending time with so many of our friends, associates and business partners. Now it's on to the American WeatherStar Dealer Conference coming up this week, 2/16-2/18 on the beautiful Alabama Gulf Coast. We hope to see you there!
